The sunshine really set the tone for the warmth and brightness which characterised this year’s PILAS and SLAS conferences. As a first-year PhD student (Urban Studies, University of Sheffield), it was my first time attending. In the friendly atmosphere, I received many insightful and encouraging questions when I presented my research proposal at PILAS.

This April marked my first PILAS Conference and my second SLAS Conference, following my participation in the 2023 edition in Queen’s Belfast. Both events – held at the University of Bristol – have been among my favourite academic events during my three years in the UK.

Mi semana en Bristol para PILAS-SLAS fue de lo más intensa, formativa y enriquecedora. Me llevo conmigo recuerdos más que gratos, luego de conocer y trabajar con un grupo de doctorandos maravillosos y súper comprometidos para nuestra Conferencia PILAS.
